What to Expect With Tissue Samples
Any tissue removed during your procedure today will be reviewed under the microscope by our pathologist. The quickest way to receive the results will be to access the report via the portal in 1-5 business days. Access our patient portal at https://gidocs.net/myportal.com
New users may request access to the portal by sending an email to gastroteam@gidocs.net with your name, date of birth and the email address you would like to register.
In 5-10 days, your gastroenterologist will review the pathology report. Your Physician will either send you a letter in the mail or make an addendum to the procedure report. You can also view the procedure report addendum on the portal. Your primary care provider will receive a copy of all results and recommendations as well. If you have any persistent symptoms or you have further questions after reviewing the results, please call the office to schedule a follow up clinic appointment.
After The Procedure
Do not drive any motor vehicle or operate dangerous equipment for 12 hours following your procedure. Do not drink alcohol for 24 hours.
Begin taking small sips of water and progress to solid foods gradually as you are feeling better.
Please contact the office or on call provider immediately if you notice any heavy, persistent bleeding anytime in the next few weeks.
